How good of a chance do I have of getting accepted to Villanova University?

Do I have a chance of getting accepted into a private university with Ds?

  • I'm in sophomore year in high school, and so far I have had a D in biology for freshman year and 3 Ds in algebra 2 this year. I'm planning on getting an english major and I was wondering if there's still chances of me getting in into a good college. The rest of my grades from the past 2 years have been mostly As and Bs besides the Ds.

    It would be good for you to make up the D's. Most schools have some sort of grade redemption program. Although it would depend on the University, more than likely it would depend on how competitive the university is. Just because its private doesn't mean its easy to get into. If all fails and you don't make up the courses, you can always go to community college. Although I strongly recommend making up the D's, I had 2 D's in High school made then up with A's and got in pretty much everywhere I wanted to.

Some private universities will take you as long as you have the money to go. Honestly, a decent university will not accept you with D's into an accredited major though. Sounds like you are doing well otherwise so don't waste this opportunity! The feeling of regret later will suck. Maybe get a tutor or ask for extra credit? Hard work now will make your life so much better later on.

i hate to say it but probably not because of the d's. if you would have gotten a's and b's it would have been a lot better. if i were you i would try to aim for nothing lower than a b for the next 2 years.
