Is Tubely a scam site?

Pending bank scam from dating site. What to do?

  • I met a girl a few weeks ago on a popular dating site. We talked and she sent me several photos, but never wanted to talk on the phone, so I knew early on something is wrong or it is a scam. I just played a long until this morning she asked if I can help her and open a Chase Bank Account so that someone that owes her money can deposit a very large amount and she is unable to open the account herself. I thought about counter scamming them and xfering the deposit very fast into my BofA account where I will let it sit untouched for several months, till the heat dies down. But instead I contacted Chase bank and told them and sent them my conversation. I wanted to ask the community if anyone knows what this scam is, or how it works? Trying to figure out how her depositing about 5 figures into an account I open is a scam?

  • Answer:

The deposit into the account is usually made via a cheque/check which is later reported stolen/fraudulent AFTER the funds have been moved elsewhere. Your 'new' account is then in debt, and you get to pay the bank back out of your own pocket.

Girlie Electrics is 100% correct. She will ask you to deposit a fake (but very real looking, real enough to initially fool your bank) check in that account. Then ask you to keep a % and wire the rest either back to her or to another person through Western Union. You wait 3 days, see the funds are avaialble so you think all is ok and send the money. But just because money has been made avaialble doesn't mean the check is good. It can take 3-4 weeks for a check to bounce, especially if they used a real person or company's account number on the check. When that does bounce, not only do you owe your bank the ENTIRE amount of the check you deposited, but you also can never get back the money you were sent. You will also face investigation for bank fraud as it's illegal to open an account for another person, counterfeiting as you deposited the fake check, money laundering (since you wired the money to another person that was picked up overseas), tax evasion, etc. Your bank account will be closed and you will be put into CHEX System preventing you from opening any bank account, credit card, etc fro 5 years. You can't scam the scammer as there is NO real money. It's all fake. You are only scamming yourself Tell her that you spoke to the bank and you cannot open a new bank account because of your bad credit (they are Nigerian scammers, they don't know US banking laws so you can tell them whatever you want). Then tell her that you are really sorry but you can't talk any more. You've met someone else locally and want to see what happens so you wish her luck but you can no longer be in contact - then block her from ever contacting you

She has something wrong either with her history or here credit history and won't be granted a bank account. She may have scammed banks in the poast and the help she wants can be one of two things -- one costs you your credit rating and cash and the other costs you cash. If you put money in it, it will be gone but that is not the way the real scam works. She wants your NAME, address, and SS# so she can have a legitimate bank account that she can have checks created for. Then she will bounce checks all over the place with your name on it with hers. She probably doesn't exist. You may have to pay the bad checks!

Did you also contact the "popular dating site" and tell them what happened? When one tried to be GREEDY themselves they usually get burned as would happen with you if you took the money and ran. You would be out what you spent and need to pay the bank back for the BOUNCED she she might deposit, if it is a she.
