Where To Look For Junk Cars?

Are older model cars 1990's and whatnot just as reliable as newer cars these days?

  • Well I'm really enjoying my 98 pontiac sunfire. I get 30+miles per gallon, have a small gas tank, runs great. The biggest plus side for me is the engine is really small and my car is so easy to work on I've never been a mechanic or done any car work until last week I was able to change 3 gaskets with no difficulty at all. Everything is nearly positioned perfect where it doesn't take much labor at all to fix things. Then I look at these newer cars it almost scares me to buy one. They are just stuffed with big engines and just a lot of complicated computer stuff. Got me wondering... other than the new car smell and looks are newer cars no better then older cars as far as performance? Its a total shame with what we have accomplished in this world they would find a better option than to stuff these new cars with a bunch of junk under the hood that you don't even know where to start.

  • Answer:

No offense, but, I know perfectly where to start when I open a hood of a new car, its all matter of knowledge, lets take for example. DI does a much better use of Fuel than older technologies like single EFI, but if you dont know that DI is where problems start, if you dont know the theory dont expect to open the hood and understand. By the way I drive an even older car, I drive a 1993 car
