What percentage mass of magnesium oxide is magnesium?

Magnesium Oxide experiment...?

  • If a students were given different amounts of Magnesium to burn to make Magnesium Oxide, would you expect the percentage of magnesium in their MgO to be different or similar? Would this have anything to do with Law of Constant Composition or something about elements chemically combined in fixed proportions by mass...? Please Answer.... Thanks Heaps :)
