I need help with swim training.

I need your help gym go-ers/body builders.?

  • Excuse my lack of knowledge on this! Basically.. I swim & do cardio to help my swimming, but I need to do more weight training but ONLY to help my swimming, so looking at shoulders mostly I guess... so I improve my power in my swimming stroke. However, here is the complicated bit, I suffer from nerve damage on my left elbow so unfortunately I'm not able to do much heavy lifting where it involves me bending my elbow, e.g shoulder press is very difficult. I can use the lateral raise machine though because I don't need to bend my elbow. What can you recommend to me? Thanks

    man thats rough. a lot of the shoulder exercises i know use your elbows. front raises are good for front delts, just like lateral is good for sides. lay stomach down on a bench and do flyes to work your rear delts. thats the hardest one to train since the other two are a part of a lot of exercises. if you dont mind explaining, how does the damage affect your ability to lift heavy?

So no press ups no wieghts, for your shoulders i recommend boxing or a punch bag, mainly in the wrists and shoulders
