Why can't I use my IM?

I cant use a tampon so im worried that id never have the guts to have sex?

  • Answer:

When I was 12 and had my first period, all we had was tampons. Mom never bought anything else but regular tampons. All 3 of my daughters won't wear them. The 2 youngest ones (16 & 14) recently asked again because they knew they would be going swimming, and also because friends used them. I send their Dad to Walmart late one nite to get OB tampons because the 14 year old was bleeding through her clothes and wanted to try them. She could not do it and thought it was gross too. Don't worry, you don't HAVE TO use tampons. When you are old enough, and it becomes time to "Make Love" (if you wait for the right guy and the right time) it won't be an awful experience. If he really loves you he will always take time and you can use lubrication. Don't worry about that for now, develop healthy relationships with both guy and girl "friends" and sometimes you can get comfortable enough to talk about your feelings. Cheer up! Everything should be ok! :) Don't listen to these people talking trashy.

I was the same exact way. I was terrified to use tampons and to have sex. Those are just things that you know you're ready when the time comes. Or if you really want to, go and see a doctor and tell them about it. I'm sure they will give you advice on what do to.

Keep trying! It can be uncomfortable to learn any new technique, and tampon insertion is a new technique for you. It may or may not be actually painful, but a totally inserted tampon is not felt and, therefore, is very comfortable. After a few times, the insertion becomes automatic and you really don't feel anything. Tampon insertion should be tried when you have your period. http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/pages/articledetail.jsp?ContentId=ART556&utm_source=yahoo_answers and http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/your-first-tampon.jsp?utm_source=yahoo_answers. are pages that will help you with insertion. But if you are doing it all right and cannot insert a tampon it may be that your hymen, the thin membrane that partially covers and protects the opening to your vagina may be too small or too tight to allow the tampon in. If this is the problem you may have to stretch this opening. You can try with a little bit of K-Y Jelly on the tip of the applicator...the more you practice the more you will stretch the hymen. If you cannot stretch it yourself, you may want to ask your doctor for help. Also, Tampax Pearls are great tampons to use as they are easier to insert. Good luck, Your BEINGgirl Experts

Kind of. Why don't you finger yourself and see how you feel. Cause trust me, something is wrong with your vagina if you don't like how it feels.

Stop dreaming. Start being.

stick it in and like the pain lol

jaDonutz :P

ur not weird at all and when da time comes ULL BE READY no big deal

Keep on trying. When you get older or even now go to a OB/GYN and get a test down there ;P. And make sure you don't have a Microformate/Septate/Imperformate. These are what they look like... http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/Images/hymen_variations.jpg

putting a tampon in doesnt hurt, its ok to be nervous at first but its really not bad at all. start with the smaller ones (less absorbancy) for practice, eventually ull get used to the idea of it.
