How To Find Application Root?

How to find the square root without ending with decimals?

  • how do i find the square root without ending up with decimals at the end and instead ending up with a number and then possibly another number under the square root sign? My teacher wants me to find the square root of 552 but the answer must not have any decimals and must look something like "5(square root sign)3" , know what i mean? 10 points to the best answer! (also if you think an answer like this is impossible then you have obviously never taken a math class so dont answer and go troll somewhere else)

  • Answer:

break 552 down as much as possible so: 552 = 4x113. squarooting 552 is same as square rooting 4 * square rooting 113 which is 2sqrt(113)

552 = 4 X 138 The square root of 4 is 2. No perfect square is a factor of 138 (it's the product of 2, 3, and 23), so I'd express it as 2[138^(1/2)], where "^(1/2)" means the square root of the number preceding it, which you probably already knew.
