3D films don't look 3D?

Hello, I am just wondering if this is just me or not. But see 3D films, do any of you think the 3D isn't good 3D? As in you see some things coming out of the screen but apart from that, its not much different from 2D? I expected things right in front of my face, but thats only happened like once, and I've seen a lot of 3D films. I just thought that all the films that came out recently, their 3D would've been amazing like the ones I saw in the science centre when I was a kid, and that was like 8 years ago. But they used Red/Blue glasses so there might be a difference. But I think its a waste of money cause I can't see it, and I don't know is it just me or that it is in fact just bad.

To me I see 3D but it is VERY bad 3D, I stick to 2D, its not worth the money and there isn't really much of a difference.

No it isn't just you, the 3D we get on our cinema's and TVs is crap. Some of the trouble is that we've been brainwashed into thinking we're going to see something like the holodecks on Startrek, like so many things the money made is more important than getting it right so we're left with a substandard 3D.
yeah, only the best parts of the film appear in 3D... if you ever see a film in 4D then thats when it all looks amazingly 3D!!

3D is about depth, not crap coming at your face.
There are many factors to consider with 3-D movies. First and most importantly, is your eyes.. If you have a lazy eye, as I do, then your depth perception is most likely off even with corrective lenses. If you haven't had an eye exam within the past year or two, it might be time for a check-up. The next thing to think about is where you are sitting in the theater. The center section is always going to be the focal point for 3-d effects. Sitting too close to the screen or too far back may decrease the effectiveness of the enhancement. Also consider that not all directors and special effects companies are equal. Some directors embrace new technology, while others struggle with it. Teams that do good 3-D effects are not always available due to other projects or are only given a budget that only allows for shoddy work. So you get what you get. Finally, not everyone enjoys 3-D. If you don't feel it is worth the extra money, go to the regular 2-D screenings instead.
