Slope intercept form questions?

Standard form and slope intercept math questions?!?! ?

  • First of all if you have a slope og -1/4 and a y intercept of 5 how would you write that in slope intercept form? 5=-1/4+0 ? Then how do you do these kind of problems? Write the standard form if the equation of the line passing through each pair of points? (9,2) (-2,6) I always get the wrong adding or subtrating signs and most of the time the number at the end wrong. PLease HELP!

  • Answer:

    Slope intercept form y = mx + c m= slope c = y intercept Therefore: y= -(1/4)x + 5 To find a standard form, rearrange the slope intercept form into the form Ax + By = C, where A, B and C are all constant :) Hope this helps

HA! I'm learning the same thing! You're either in 8th grade Accelerated math (Where i am), or 9th grade. To tell you the truth, in class I just play with the graphing calculators. Good luck!
