Actually, my advice is more the opposite of 'keep practicing': the rest periods between the practice sessions are at least as important, if not more important than the training sessions. They are the phases where your body builds strength that it needs to perform better in the next training session. The most frequent mistake that beginners make when they start endurance training is that they run too fast and too long. Slow down and follow a rigorous training plan. Increase the weekly mileage you run every week, but not by more that 10%, with adequate rest periods in between. Some cross training also helps. In particular exercises that strengthen leg muscles, such as: calf lifts, squats, lounges. It is also good to strengthen your core muscles to gain stability in the long distances.

Try breathing slowly while running that's what I do and I haven't got a stich in years, also, try, sort of, boinging up and down when your running. I don't mean jumping around, I mean going a bit higher with every step.
