Why are my trees keep on dying?

• Before summer one of my small pine trees dies, so I dug the tree up and was going to replace it when it is summer. Winter just ended and another one of my trees died. The new tree that dies is right next to the old tree that was dug up. The trees that are near them are all in perfect health. Is their sum thing under neath the ground because I also found something that is making tunnels under my lawn. What is making the trees keep on dying.

  Then tunnel is curious. Could be mole or gopher creating passage ways in the soil below thus either eating the roots or creating a drain, not allowing water to stay in the soil around the trees. There are many other reasons pines die. If the branch tips dry out or are eating by birds or insects, the tree will die since growth only occurs at the tips. If the plants were planted from a container, the root ball might have broken in transplanting......almost always resulting in death. Hard to diagnose without seeing the entire dead plant, roots to shoots or the planting area.
