How to motivate my brother to study?
-
My brother is a very good human being. He studies in Grade 12 Science. He helps us in household work, talks politely is a good son.The only problem is that he does not study.Ever since I remember, he had difficult time passing exams. He does not have any interest in studying. If we tell him to study he questions back "Why do I have to to?". We have given him good food, love. And I know its not because of lack of love or care. Last time when I asked him "Why don't you want to study?" He simply says I don't know. Its not that he does not have a concept. He has concept about what he studies but does not make an effort to understand or study according to his level. My mom says he does not have that desire to prove himself. His exams are coming and the whole day he stares at the wall, plays guitar, plays ball, eats, goes to toilet, stares, talks with us BUT DOES NOT STUDY!! ;( Please can anyone tell me how to motivate my brother? I want to help him!! If you have suggestions then please give!!

Give him a reason to study. Make him dream with his eyes open. Tell him how successful he can be, more than his beloved father, or more than anyone in his class or in this world. Motivation can lead to success. I hope this helps.

I would show an interest in his studies, ask him to tell you about the subject. He may be bored with studying, try to make it enjoyable.

just bribe him, tell him you'll give him something he wants if he studies
