What are transferable skills? Why is it important to have good transferable skills?

What are the skills of these care workers and when/why do they need them?

• - Health & Social Care & Early Years - Care workers I have chosen: a) GP - Health care b) Counsellor - Social care c) Nursery assistant - Early years Skills (may) need: 1) Knowledge 2) Observation 3) Measurement and testing 4) Data interpretation 5) Record keeping 6) Diagnosis 7) Treatment 8) Good communication skills 9) Verbal communication 10) Non-verbal communication 11) Information technology (IT) skills 12) Advising 13) Counselling 14) Modelling 15) Distraction 16) Setting challenges 17) Educating 18) Assessing 19) Team working 20) Leadership 21) Monitoring 22) Aspects of a personality (that might help them to do their particular care job - relevant aspects of personality include being: caring and compassionate, calm and patient, able to work under pressure, conscientious, wanting to do a job well) Why do they need the above skills and when do they use them? - Examples? Will be happy with as much as you can help me with! - Especially the Knowledge skills & Good communication skills - and both Verbal and Non-verbal - for each/all of them hopefully. The internet really isn't helping me much; can't find the information I need and it's just lots of useless information - there's not much time left. :( Thank you very much all for your help!
