What does "work 1 row" mean? And what does "*K9,K2tog, rep from * to last st, K1(33 sts.) mean?

Help! I'm knitting a beanie hat, and it told me to do the sequence "*K9,K2tog, rep from * to last st, K1(33 sts.)". I under stand that rep from * to end means to repeat the sequence until the end of the row, but I never encountered to last st. Before. Please help! Also, what does it mean to work 1 row? Thanks!!!

Answer:
K means Knit. So K9, K2tog. means Knit 9 stitches, then knit 2 stitches together (the needle going through 2 stitches at the same time, not just 1). St means stitch.
