How to reduce tummy sitting at home?

Sick, what can I do at home myself to get better?

  • I guess this is a stupid question... but I've been really sick the past few days. Please don't tell me to see a Dr. They're very expensive and too far away from me. Symptoms: Runny nose, Headaches, Very bad cough, Skin burning (feels like I have a sunburn all over my body from head to toes) it's so bad it hurts to walk because my pants rub my legs and my shirt is rubbing my tummy and back.. it's very painful especially when anything touches my skin, Very achy body, Cold sweats. My ribs hurt and my back hurt very badly as well, as if I slept wrong. I checked my temp, it's sitting at 101.3 and that's with medicine in my system. I've been taking benedryl allergy (that's all I had). I've also been taking ibuprofen for the pains. I've been drinking hot tea and hot chocolate for my throat, eating soups and top ramen. I've been resting a lot, drinking loads of water as well. Also just got some juice too. Nothing is helping... I'm not able to see a dr... for one, they're closed. And 2, they would charge me $40 for my visit and not to mention lots of money for an antibiotic. And 3... the closest dr is an hour and a half away. So please don't tell me to see a Dr. I just would like some advice on things I can do at home to try and help me get better. And if someone could tell me what the burning of my skin is... I get it EVERY TIME I get sick like this. It burns EVERYWHERE, my face all the way down my body to my feet. Sometimes I'll shower and it will subside just a little bit for a while, but I can't stand in a shower all day long... It seriously feels like I've got a major sun burn on every inch of my body. And I only get it when I'm sick like this. And if I get cold, it makes the feeling much worse with the goosebumps and such. Is there anything else I can do to try at home to feel better?

  • Answer:

Rest drink plenty of fluids and theres no cures for colds they just run their course. You can take benelyn or Adill colds and flu those will make you feel better but not make you better.

I'll give it a shot, and I don't guarantee this will work. For the burning, try staying in a cool bath tub for a while, and if the burning doesn't go down, stay in even longer. If it starts to die down, put on some aloe (best with aloe vera) and try to stay cool in a cool room. For entertainment, try some reading, drawing, sketching, etc. Do something like poetry to see if you can take your mind off the pain. Take cough drops, regular pain pills (tylenol, advil), and just stick it out and hope for the best. Keep to the diet you are currently using also. But how often do you get this sick? This seems EXTREMELY severe.... Again I have no guarantee this will work. I'm just trying to help.

I have no idea what the sunburn feeling could be. It might be a rash or allergic reaction to something. But since the other symptoms seem to be cold and flu symptoms here is what I recommend. I do this whenever I start feeling sick and it cuts the length of my sickness in half, sometimes only a day or two of being sick. 1.The run. I do some jumping jacks and get my blood flowing, stretch out my leg muscles fully and get on many layers of clothes. I put sweatpants, running shoes sweatshirts and usually put a sweatsuit (used when I dropped weight for wrestling) and I go for a run. I run as much as I can, sometimes till I vomit or pass out. This sounds crazy and many people refuse to do it but the friends I have convinced swear it works. I run till I sweat an incredible amount, soaking all my clothes. Then I run home. Since you complained about sunburn sensation I would say to put on a mixture of moisturizing lotion and aloe vera gel on before layering on the clothes. If this is too intense for you skip to step 2. 2. The drink. I have a drink I always make and drink while I run and when I get home, usually just all day I drink this and the cold wont last very long. It consists of 2 parts hot water, 2 tea bags, airborne tablet and/or 1 part orange juice, lemon/lime concentrate(1-2 tablespoons), tablespoon of honey, and 1-2 shots vodka or whiskey. The last part sounds crazy but not only is vodka and whiskey good for fighting bacteria but the more of this you drink, the more drunk you get and the coughing and uncomfortable feelings seem to go away rather quickly. 3. The bath. Take 1 or 2 hot baths a day for about 20-30 minutes. I put a cup of epsom salt and a cup of oatmeal in the bath and soak for a while, this will also help you sweat out the cold. 4. Chicken noodle soup, rest, and TV. I lay on the couch bundled up warm and watch TV while eating healthy all day. When I start to feel like uncomfortable I go for another run and feel amazing during and after my bath. 5. Before bed. I put vicks vapor rub on my chest, under my nose, and on my feet. Then I put 2 layers of socks on and bundle up tight. I usually keep extra sheets next to my bed cause I will wake up freezing depending on how much I sweat out or if I sweat at all. Drink lots of water and try to sweat out the cold and you should be better in 1-3 days. This always works for me. I was starting to get sick 2 days ago and did all of this immediately. I feel amazing right now =D Good luck and I hope it passes soon, being sick is awful..
