Is there any way to uninstall Explorer 7?

I installed avira AV and tried to update it but it just wouldnt so i tried to uninstall it then my system crashed half way thru (tried it 4 more times) also it is giving virus pop ups (.dll files) every time i open a program or even windows explorer?HELP

My desktop system has had trouble trying to update Avira lately, but my netbook has no issues with updates. However, did you shut Avira down before you tried to uninstall it? Trying to uninstall a program that is actively in use can lead to heartaches, wailing, and gnashing of teeth. And was your system even clean to begin with? Like many things, this is one of those problems that I would have to see first-hand to be on much help. I'm jsut putting what I know out there. Avira has been mostly good to me; better than any other AV I've tried.
