Meaning of chemical changes?

Do you think that changing the meaning of freedom changes the meaning of Democracy?

  • Answer:

Tell me when we had democracy. People think that because the gov is telling us we have a choice on this that and the other and really makes us believe that what we do or say has any bearing on how capital hill is run. Just saying you can change democracy all you want we are only as free as capital hill says we are. Not just physical freedom, I mean things like tax hikes to make up for a budget they messed up to racial profiling. Bottom line money = your best chance of "freedom"

Considering that we live in a Representative Republic, it could. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doublespeak

Even if we do, the concept of freedom and democracy as we know it won't change.

The question makes no sense. Let's say we redefine "freedom" to mean "Tapioca Pudding". The word "Democracy" still means a form of government where people vote on issues, or elect representatives to vote on issues. No the word "Democracy" is not dependent on the word "Freedom". Actually, the concept of "Democracy" is not dependent on the concept of "Freedom" either. A democracy could have compulsory elections, thus no freedom. And a pure democracy is never free- it's called the tyranny of the majority. Instead, a democracy must be limited by human rights to be free.
