Whats the best way to advertise a small business? I have just started a pool cleaning company, and could use some advice

Loss leaders: Offer free vacuuming, brushing to advertise how well you do the job. The downside is the extra, unpaid work. The upside is you're communicating only to those with pools.

Put flyers up in local shops. Advertise in your local Pennysaver or community Newspaper. Advertise free estimates and once you get started a lot will be word of mouth recommendations.

Thanks for the reply, I am advertising on CL, but it seems like people do not want to pay much, also people call from way out side my area. What do you think about flyers on cars in my service area?

Look around neighborhoods where people have pools and place some flyers around those neighborhoods.

the biggest advertising value I get is through word of mouth. the phone book is close to the worst, but people cannot find you if you aren't in the book.

car flyers tend to be annoying.

a thought that occurred to me, today. you might want to drop off cards with your area realtors. I have 3 or 4 who have me on speeddial.
