Linux/Ubuntu machine running VirtualBox. Second existing Windows XP HD/partition.
-
I have an Ubuntu (Natty) machine that has Virtualbox and I'm needing to run Windows XP (from an secondary hard drive) within Ubuntu. I DO NOT have the XP CD. I've searched but all directions that I've seen show a clean install of XP within Vbox, but I don't have the CD. Anyway to edit the VDI file? I consider myself a smart geek, but I really need help on this one

Correct. VirtualBox is nothing more than the free VM software needed to run a guest OS. You still need either a full install Windows disk or a pre-installed Windows XP VDI file. I've never seen any software that will allow you to edit a VDI file.
