Are argon atoms and a calcium ion isoelectronic?
-
-
Answer:
Duh! Since if you are to write the electron configuration for Ca2+ as followed: 1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2, 3p6. Find the 3p6 on the periodic chart. Magic! Note: Ca lost two electrons therefore the electron configuration 4s2 was canceled out for this reason.
