Why do we need to study hard?

  • I am a college student studying computer science. It is not a famous university. My schoolmate around me is mostly doing some useless work, like shopping on the website, or sleeping all day. I feel like I can't insist on my own studies and they even ask me why do we need study hard? They think staying in bed is a better choice.

    You don't NEED to. It is a choice. All choices have consequences. The choices they make will reap what they sow. Those study habbits turn into attitudes of life. They are in training. Always. And not just with the scholastics they are bored with. They are wanting life to entertain them and will expect happiness to be what the world gives them. When it doesn't, they are miserable and don't understand their part in it. Studying hard means you are prepared to understand how certain things work which eventually will turn into your economic level of life. Your choice.
