Which programs open .tif files?

Are there any utilities for Windows OS that allow batch re-sizing of .TIF files to output specific dimensions and DPI?

  • I have a bunch of .TIF files and I need to convert them to .JPEG files that are 9 inches on the long side and 300 DPI. Is there any free utilities on the web that can do this for me?  Currently, I use Photoshop which is a slow and tedious process.

  • Answer:

Photoshop has powerful "Action" recording capabilities that can be used to batch process files. You would record an action of what you want to do, then use the File>Automate>Batch command to run that action on a folder of files.
