Some countries pay their medal winners and it was reported during the Olympics that some Gold medal winners would get $100,000 from their country. The U.S. Olympic Commission pays U.S winners $25,000 for winning Gold, $15,000 for Silver and $10,000 for a Bronze.

My experience is in Paralympic Sport. In that case I know the Great British Paralympic Comitee pay their athletes a fee of around 4 figures although I know the amount im not sure I can say
