Which mushrooms are poisonous?

Why are some mushrooms poisonous and others not?

  • It just seems strange to me that some mushrooms are perfectly fine to eat, even in large quantities, and others are deadly poison even in small quantities.  Even mushrooms that look very similar can vary in their toxicity.

  • Answer:

Good question...but it's the same with anything I guess..Like bees and palnts. Things put up there defences depending on lots of reasons. Some mushrooms may spread quicker than others, therefore, can afford to be eaten. Also, this could play a massive part in the way the mushroom spreads. If an animal eats it, it will carry it to somewhere else then poop it out which plants the spores. A poisonus mushroom may not be dependadnt on an animal eating it so stops it in its tracks with poison.
