Job interview process?

Is it the problem with the job interview process or the job seeker or something else?

  • I was thinking perhaps the usual job interview process is not right for finding the right talent in every job seeker out there? When someone does not perform well in the job interview, that may not mean they are unfit for the job. Some people may not be good at performing well in the job interviews but may do very well in the real job situation. Perhaps the job interview process needs to be reviewed and be more inclusive? We usually see the problem with the job seeker but perhaps the interview process itself isn't good enough for everyone. This can be applicable to any type of job.

  • Answer:

Decisions to hire aren't made just on an interview. They are also made on track record. If you don't have a decent track record and can't prove your worth in an interview it's too bad. If you have an amazing track record but interview well, you'll still have a good chance of getting the job. You can't systemise everything. Sometimes it has to come down to intuition.
