What foods go with what types of work?

  • We all know from experience that we crave certain foods while doing certain kinds of work. Traditional cuisines often associate certain kinds of food with certain kinds of work (like light, vegetarian food for monks and red meat for warriors). So what kind of foods do you think go with different types of work for the work to be more effective? Are our cravings consistent with these types of work (for example, is pizza actually a good food when you are trying to pull an all-nighter to finish a project, or would a salad be better?). Note that this is NOT ABOUT HEALTH (and ESPECIALLY not about long-term health). This is about choosing food to improve your short-term effectiveness at WORK.

    I make my own trail mix! I also eat various other types of bars such as MoJo/Clif/etc. For me they work out well, give me the long term energy I need and are much healthier than killing an order of Orange chicken!
