Why aren't sites like Mashable & TechCrunch commenting on Best Practices for migrating old Facebook Groups to the new style or suggesting that users scrap the groups and create Facebook Pages instead?

New groups have a much more conversational style and migrated users may be bombarded by notifications. Migrating hundreds or thousands of un-related users seems like a recipe for disaster.
