Which are the google algorithms?

How do the Google Product Search (Google Shopping) algorithms differ from those used by Google Search?

  • Our electronic retail store offers some of the lowest prices for the products that we carry. We also recently started implementing changes to improve our SERP. We are seeing positive results and some of our products are now ranked on the first pages of Google search.  However, they are not ranked the same on Google Product Search.  How are these engines different from each other & what can we do to improve our Google Product Search rankings?

  • Answer:

Have you checked your shopping product titles are similar to your product page titles? Have you added EAN numbers to your shopping feed? As you mentioned you are selling electronic equipment, it should help to add your brands, if you haven't already?

It's more similar than you think.  The ranking and relevancy all use Google's normal spiders etc.  You are penalized for all the normal things - duplicate content, slow or non-working landing pages etc. One critical element is to make sure that your title, description, and price EXACTLY matcn your landing page.  Google's spiders check this kind of stuff.
