Everyone is going to say it makes things worse.. but.. I never found that when I was a teen. If I squeezed them messily with my fingernails (sometimes failing), then it made things worse. What worked better was having a hot bath or shower. That helps soften the skin and make it more clear where the head of the pimple was. With that, I could take a clean sewing pin, and jab it in there just right. It took some practice but I was eventually able to get the exact right spot with almost every attempt. It's actually painless. When you get the right spot, the puss will often come out before you even squeeze, or it will only take a small amount of pressure to drain the thing completely. You have to be sure you went in deep enough with the pin. Don't just barely prick the surface. That's what makes it work - you want all that crap to come out, not for any of it to get squished back in where it'll spread to nearby skin. In my experience, letting one just sit there would mean it just sat there for at least a week then was still discolored slightly for another week after that. A perfect shot with the pin meant it was barely visible 3 days later.

Popping them is bad. When you pop them germs get in and bring a good chance of infection.
