Here's a solution for you. If you use a browser such as Firefox (and other Mozilla based browsers such as SeaMonkey and Palemoon), Chrome, Opera, or Safari, you can use Adblock Plus to not only block advertisements but also other elements on the page. This includes the sponsored advertisements in the inbox of Yahoo. To block the sponsored advertisement, first click on the Adblock icon, it will give you a drop down in the drop down you will see block element, click on that. Next run the cursor over the sponsored advertisement will will become highlighted. Click on that, and another box will come up asking you to either add, or cancel. Click on add, and the sponsored advertisements will then be blocked, and you won't see them any longer. This is what I did, so as not to see those any longer. So there is a way not to see those any longer. However if you use I.E. I don't know if Simple Adblock will do that for you.

You could install an ad blocker, such as AdBlock Plus and see if it is effective at removing these ads. Be aware these add-ons can hinder the operation of some web functions, so you may need to disable them in order for some websites to work properly. Others have said that the Firefox add-on called "Yahoo Mail Hide Ad Panel" available at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/yahoomailhideadpanel/ can remove all the ads, including the new sponsored text ads but I haven't tried it.
