Why can't I update Windows or antivirus?

I cant open my pc after Ive done windows update?

    this is what you should do, power the PC and click on f8 key to run a safe mode. when it opens fully click on safe mode allow the system to fully boot. then you restart it. i think it wil boot normal this time but if it doesnt boot then refer it to me i will fix it with out losing any files

Is it possible to press F11 as soon as it powers on? And I mean, MASH F11 until advanced recovery/startup options appears. From there you can reinstall Windows without affecting your files, or try a system restore point (system should have created one right before starting the update), this also won't affect files. Assuming you have Windows 8 since I am pretty sure only Windows 8 says configuring updates after downloading them, instead of just installing.

Sounds like it's having trouble configuring the updates. It tries, then something stops it from finishing, and then gives you the error. It sounds like you've got windows 7 or 8. Try letting 7 or 8 find what the error is. If it cannot fix it, it'll give you a huge error message number, write it down, then go online and type that error message number into google, and it'll find it for you and also anyone else that's had that problem, and there's probably lots of them!! They'll also give options to try and fix the problem.
