Society calls people mentally ill because it suits society to do so. The consequences are devastating.?

.. try to manage. They have to be cleverer than EVERYONE basically. Unless they want to spend the rest of their life in someone else's shadow (which no clever person would want to do) they have to second guess everyone. Which gives them an aura of suspicion and 'try too hard'. It leads to what is called mental illness. It's like being Mario at the bottom of the ladder and you can get all the way to the top but there are still barrels coming at you all the time and you'll still have a giant gorilla to fight. And then you find out that the princess actually fancies the gorilla anyway. And the middle class doctor's response (who is not a videogame fan of course) is 'Take some pills. Join some clubs. Relax.' The very same trite response that has kept the middle class hold over the working class.
