What is substitute of a keyboard for an iPhone?

My Apple Wireless Keyboard by default pairs with my MacBook. How do I make it pair with my iPhone by default?

  • I have so far used my Wireless Keyboard with my MacBook by default, which is also the first ever device I paired it with. From now on I want to use it with my iPhone by default. I have researched a bit, and found that this does not seem to be too easy, since the Keyboard does not provide a hardware reset button or option. Every time I come home, even when my MacBook is still shut, and I activate my Keyboard, it pairs with the MacBook instead of the iPhone, even if before leaving home I had it paired with the iPhone. I have tried to shut off Bluetooth on my MacBook, put the Keyboard back into pairing mode and paired it with my iPhone, hoping it would now recognize it as the standard pairing device, but it still does not work. I read in the Apple forums about people shutting down all Bluetooth devices in their home and walking away twenty meters from it to reset it, but I am wondering if there is a simple, proven way to do this. Any hints?

    As someone with the same keyboard, an iPhone, and iMac, here's what I did. 1. Powered off the keyboard. 2. Went out of the house (to a coffee shop) and brought my keyboard and iPhone 3. Turn Bluetooth on, on your iPhone. 4. While it looks for devices, turn on your keyboard. 5. Click on your keyboard in the Bluetooth device list on your iPhone. 6. Your keyboard is now tied to your iPhone, enjoy.
