  My thoughts: 1. An Associates Degree is not viewed as well as a full 4 year degree, so you'll be a step behind on any job application immediately. Now if you have some good job experience, you can make that up, but there will definitely be more emphasis on that - so try as hard as you can to get job experience while pursuing your degree. Heck, if you can, volunteer to do work if you have to. 2. No one truly knows the future - and anyone who says they do, is probably wrong. 3. To some degree, it doesn't matter which will have better jobs in the future - what will you be good at. If there are 2 software development jobs for every 1 network admin job - but you're much better as a network admin - then you'll find a job easier as a network admin. There will always be jobs in these fields for those who are good at it. 4. Having said all that - and I had to choose - I would pick 'web programmer' purely because there will be a higher volume of them. Even today, I would say there are 3-4 developers for every network admin.
