    well its probably infected and you should tell your mom... but you should also apply the special earring stuff that you got when your ears pierced, and alcohol or hydrogen peroxide

It could be infected and if it doesn't go away you should tell her, but she may notice it anyway. Normally if my ear is infected I just use alcohol and make sure that I am wearing nice earrings (like silver or gold or at least nickel free) and the infection goes away.
