  • I'm going out of town this weekend and I tend to get stomachaches alot so I was wondering if Tums help that because I was going to take some with me. So does anyone know if Tums ...show more

  • Answer:

You should bring Gravol, they have them in pill form now, so whenever you feel nausea I would just take those pills. Tums says it helps a "sour stomach" so you could take Tums as well, but the Tums website says, "Do not take TUMS® within 2 hours of another medicine because the effectiveness of the medicine may be altered." So, I would bring both Tums and Gravol, and just alternate. Take Gravol, then in 2 hours take tums, etc, etc. Good Luck!

No, Tums are antacids. They don't help with nausea or stomach ache. I'd reccommend pepto bismal, that is excellent for upset stomach. If you want a more natural remedy, ginger and peppermint both help with nausea. You can take ginger tablets or drink strong peppermint tea.

At a Health Store: Nux Vomica (Homeopathic & harmless; cheap). Read directions, use as needed. Stay away from fried, greasy foods.
