If he's not medically needy, what exactly do you want the government to pay for?

not in most states.. there is a medicaid waiver in at least 1 state (don't believe anyone that implies it is any state) where a parent can get paid to take care of a child--even one who is independent for the most part, but happens to use a wheelchair..... in my state, i worked with a child with autism and who was medically needy due to a 2nd condition--he needed respiratory therapy at home as well as total care (bathrooming, dressing, etc)...there is no program in my state through medicaid that would pay anyone to provide care... there might be assistance from the state division of developmental disabilities..in my state they sometimes give grants that can be used to pay for child care or other needs...
