Why does handwriting change so much and so frequently?

Why isn't my handwriting different when writing on a blackboard? Clearly, different muscles are used. One would expect that to change the handwriting.

  • Answer:

Handwriting is more powerful than muscles. Your "off-hand" handwriting is different from your preferred hand, but not as different as my handwriting is from yours. If you're really interested, look at almost any of the handwriting analysis books.  IMO, they all go a bit too  far, but I'm not a trained professional.  I simply draw a few conclusions from the appearance of someone's handwriting.

Not really. I'm just an amateur. Student actually. But my thought is that you only just lift your muscles up and down whilst using a blackboard. Not really changing your whole handwriting style. Technically your fingers aren't positioned in a different manner are they?
