Handwriting is more powerful than muscles.

Your "off-hand" handwriting is different from your preferred hand, but not as different as my handwriting is from yours.

If you're really interested, look at almost any of the handwriting analysis books. IMO, they all go a bit too far, but I'm not a trained professional. I simply draw a few conclusions from the appearance of someone's handwriting.

Where do I start?

I’m a huge financial nerd, and have spent an embarrassing amount of time talking to people about their money habits.

Here are the biggest mistakes people are making and how to fix them:

Not having a separate high interest savings account

Having a separate account allows you to see the results of all your hard work and keep your money separate so you're less tempted to spend it.

Overpaying on car insurance

You’ve heard it a million times before, but the average American family still overspends by $417/year on car insurance.

If you’ve been with the same insurer for years, chances are you are one of them.

Pull up Coverage.com, a free site that will compare prices for you, answer the questions on the page, and it will show you how much you could be saving.

That’s it. You’ll likely be saving a bunch of money. Here’s a link to give it a try.

Consistently being in debt

If you’ve got $10K+ in debt (credit cards…medical bills…anything really) you could use a debt relief program and potentially reduce by over 20%.

Here’s how to see if you qualify:

Head over to this Debt Relief comparison website here, then simply answer the questions to see if you qualify.

It’s as simple as that. You’ll likely end up paying less than you owed before and you could be debt free in as little as 2 years.

Missing out on free money to invest

It’s no secret that millionaires love investing, but for the rest of us, it can seem out of reach.

Times have changed. There are a number of investing platforms that will give you a bonus to open an account and get started. All you have to do is open the account and invest at least $25, and you could get up to $1000 in bonus.

Pretty sweet deal right? Here is a link to some of the best options.

Having bad credit

A low credit score can come back to bite you in so many ways in the future.

From that next rental application to getting approved for any type of loan or credit card, if you have a bad history with credit, the good news is you can fix it.

Head over to BankRate.com and answer a few questions to see if you qualify. It only takes a few minutes and could save you from a major upset down the line.

Now if your handwriting which is happening on auto mode needs some fixed instructions so that it can keep happening automatically.

If your handwriting keeps changing very frequently, it means that your behaviour keeps changing very frequently. It means that you are not very sure about what you believe is right and wrong. It means that your values keep changing. Thus, it shows that you are unpredictable and unreliable. It shows your moody behaviour.

People whose writing keeps changing a lot are very talented but they are unable to utilise their talent to the fullest due to their moodiness.

If this response resonated with you or provided valuable insights, I'd appreciate an ⬆️ upvote to help others discover it too.

Have you been keeping a journal of this?

Set yourself a schedule, 3x a day. When you wake, have lunch, before bed. Write a sentence, it needn’t be epic and make this a daily habit.

Try to make side notes…did you sleep well? Any antagonisgm with a coworker? Did you relax before bed, sex or did you balance your bank account? Every event is related to our motion. Lucky Mitchell ⬇️

Drastic is not so drastic pooled with events. With a journal you are creating a visual baseline to accompany ‘you’ to a dr visit. The beauty of this is you know it’s true, because you wrote it.

Change in handwriting is natural, especially in one’s academic life sheerly because that is not the primary goal (at least that is what the trend suggests considering the meagre handwritings i see ) and no heed is paid to improve it whatsoever.

Sometimes, it happens so that you might have a fine writing when you are making notes at home or class but you couldn’t produce the same in exams. The reason? Haste. Not your fault. All you need is a bit of practice and concentration. I can give you some tips which helped me :

  1. Hold/Grip : Always understand what is the most convenient way to hold your pen God forbid you are not a lefty. And if you are one of those rare species, you got to deal with a whole world of problems like smudges and ‘holds’ which are too inconvenient yet unlikely to produce results (I was a lefty ,now i am not). So make sure you are convenient enough holding the pen

The most common holds are g, H and J while F and I are rare but here is my hold which I think is the rarest but my hand flows on paper like a knife on butter.

(i was practicing answers as my exams are nearing) I hold the pen in between the index finger and the middle one which enables a tight grip yet no ache or shake. Mind you, I chose this cause i too had irregular writing till 10th that too in what some people consider as “the most important period of a student’s school life”. Handwriting got prettier. Grades suffered. Mind you , I was a good student yet it taught me a very important lesson. Do not give up in what you think is right , if that can really make you unique as well as stand apart. Now people really are amused by the way i write and the way i hold ofcourse (nobody asks my marks)

2. Posture : The way you sit and hold the pen w.r.t the placement of paper i.e. whether you place the paper in front of you in vertical position or a slightly slant also determines the outcome. Personally i would recommend you to sit straight and have the paper in between 45 degree angle to 60 degree.

3.Practice: Always practice our own customized version of capital and small letters . This will be irksome and boring but once you start practicing for 15 minutes daily you will see a drastic change . This is important to mechanize the modus operandi of your handwriting regardless of your mood which means your brain will switch to the beautiful writing mode as soon as ou hold your pen.

(thanks to you, I practice after a long time )

The above three are main reasons which can act in favour or as hindrance to your handwriting. Apart from this, the type of pen you use might add elegance to your handwriting. I use Pilot V7.

So remember it is the intent and not the mood which decides how you write .

Like many of you reading this, I’ve been looking for ways to earn money online in addition to my part-time job. But you know how it is – the internet is full of scams and shady-grady stuff, so I spent weeks trying to find something legit. And I finally did!

Freecash surprised me in all the right ways. I’ve earned over $1,000 in one month without ‘living’ on the platform. I was skeptical right up until the moment I cashed out to my PayPal.

What is Freecash all about?

Basically, it’s a platform that pays you for testing apps and games and completing surveys. This helps developers improve their applications while you make some money.

  • You can earn by downloading apps, testing games, or completing surveys. I love playing games, so that’s where most of my earnings came from (oh, and my favorites were Warpath, Wild Fish, and Domino Dreams).
  • There’s a variety of offers (usually, the higher-paying ones take more time).
  • Some games can pay up to $1,000 for completing a task, but these typically require more hours to finish.
  • On average, you can easily earn $30–50/day.
  • You pick your options — you’re free to choose whatever apps, games, and surveys you like.

Of course, it’s not like you can spend 5 minutes a day and become a millionaire. But you can build a stable income in reasonable time, especially if you turn it into a daily habit.

Why did I like Freecash?

  • It’s easy. I mean it. You don’t have to do anything complicated. All you need is to follow the task and have some free time to spend on it. For some reason, I especially enjoyed the game Domino Dreams. My initial goal was to complete chapter 10 to get my first $30, but I couldn’t stop playing and ended up completing chapter 15. It was lots of fun and also free money: $400 from that game alone.
  • No experience needed. Even if you’ve never done any ‘testing’ before, you can do this. You get straightforward task descriptions, so it’s impossible to go wrong. A task you might expect is something like: Download this game and complete all challenges in 14 days.
  • You can do it from anywhere. I was earning money while taking the bus, chilling on the couch, and during my breaks.
  • Fast cashing out. I had my earnings in my PayPal account in less than 1 day. I’m not sure how long it takes for other withdrawal methods (crypto, gift cards, etc.), but it should be fast as well.
  • You can earn a lot if you’re consistent. I’ve literally seen users in the Leaderboard making $3,000 in just one month. Of course, to get there, you need time, but making a couple of hundred dollars is really easy and relatively fast for anyone.

Don’t miss these PRO tips to earn more:

I feel like most users don’t know about these additional ways to make more money with Freecash:

  • Free promo codes: You can follow Freecash on social media to get weekly promo codes for free coins, which you can later exchange for money.
  • Daily rewards and bonuses: If you use the platform daily, you’ll get additional bonuses that help you earn more.
  • In-app purchases to speed up processes: While playing, you can buy items to help speed up task completion. It’s optional, but it really saved me time, and I earned 4x more than I spent.
  • Choose the highest-paying offers: Check New Offers and Featured Offers to get the best opportunities that pay the most.

Honestly, I still can’t believe I was able to earn this much so easily. And I’ve actually enjoyed the whole process. So, if you’re looking for some truly legit ways to earn money online, Freecash is a very good option.

I seem to write in completely different styles when I use different pens. The way I hold a pen of a different circumference and the way the ink glides onto the paper and even the type of paper seem to have a huge impact on what style will appear on the paper.

Other factors can influence the style, like what position I'm in, the speed I'm writing, how much attention I can devote to the writing vs. jotting notes quickly, etc.

The styles that appear are consistent within the document or entry I'm writing at that sitting, but a collection of my writing on different days and with different writing utensils would appear to a handwriting analyst as several different people, I'm sure. Or at least to most people, it would appear as if many different people wrote my entries into a notebook or in my calendar.

One HUGE explanation for this may be that I have finally realized that I have ASD (adult diagnosis) and I have been reading about handwriting and ASD, and started developing this hypothesis…

Apparently handwriting for people with ASD is a completely different processes. I have very high IQ and even excellent spatial skills and motor skills, so it seems that it's possible that my fine motor muscles are extremely sensitive to slight changes in the writing untenstils and other variables in getting word on paper by hand.

I recall obsessing about fonts when I was about 9–10 years old and with my book of “how to create fonts" (hand drawn in the graphic design, not handwriting realm), and spending hours inventing and recreating fonts.

It's NOT that I don't have the physical skills or practice to have a refined handwriting style, it's that I have an extremely sensitive physical response to the tools for writing and my writing style changes drastically as a result!

I'm so curious if that is an explanation for you!

I once met a man who drove a modest Toyota Corolla, wore beat-up sneakers, and looked like he’d lived the same way for decades. But what really caught my attention was when he casually mentioned he was retired at 45 with more money than he could ever spend. I couldn’t help but ask, “How did you do it?”

He smiled and said, “The secret to saving money is knowing where to look for the waste—and car insurance is one of the easiest places to start.”

He then walked me through a few strategies that I’d never thought of before. Here’s what I learned:

1. Make insurance companies fight for your business

Most people just stick with the same insurer year after year, but that’s what the companies are counting on. This guy used tools like Coverage.com to compare rates every time his policy came up for renewal. It only took him a few minutes, and he said he’d saved hundreds each year by letting insurers compete for his business.

Click here to try Coverage.com and see how much you could save today.

2. Take advantage of safe driver programs

He mentioned that some companies reward good drivers with significant discounts. By signing up for a program that tracked his driving habits for just a month, he qualified for a lower rate. “It’s like a test where you already know the answers,” he joked.

You can find a list of insurance companies offering safe driver discounts here and start saving on your next policy.

3. Bundle your policies

He bundled his auto insurance with his home insurance and saved big. “Most companies will give you a discount if you combine your policies with them. It’s easy money,” he explained. If you haven’t bundled yet, ask your insurer what discounts they offer—or look for new ones that do.

4. Drop coverage you don’t need

He also emphasized reassessing coverage every year. If your car isn’t worth much anymore, it might be time to drop collision or comprehensive coverage. “You shouldn’t be paying more to insure the car than it’s worth,” he said.

5. Look for hidden fees or overpriced add-ons

One of his final tips was to avoid extras like roadside assistance, which can often be purchased elsewhere for less. “It’s those little fees you don’t think about that add up,” he warned.

The Secret? Stop Overpaying

The real “secret” isn’t about cutting corners—it’s about being proactive. Car insurance companies are counting on you to stay complacent, but with tools like Coverage.com and a little effort, you can make sure you’re only paying for what you need—and saving hundreds in the process.

If you’re ready to start saving, take a moment to:

Saving money on auto insurance doesn’t have to be complicated—you just have to know where to look. If you'd like to support my work, feel free to use the links in this post—they help me continue creating valuable content.

Handwriting is not a carbon copy kind of thing, with each letter looking the very same way as the last time you wrote it. This is especially true of cursive writing. Ideally, the best way to limit that is to slow down; write slowly, though that's annoying especially if you have a lot of content to write (a homework assignment, a pen pal letter, etc.) but it works. Over time, you'll pick up more unconscious control over your writing, or more “muscle memory” if you prefer. There are experts who can say about the personality looking at handwriting too.

Its all in the mind! :-)

For many years I thought my handwriting was always different because I was not properly trained in how to handwrite. I moved every couple of years when I was a kid. When I was in a school in grade 2 this school learned handwriting in grade 3. I moved between grade 2 and grade 3 to a school where handwriting was taught in grade 2. Since I did not know how to handwrite the Gr 3 teacher kept me after school a couple times a week. I dont remember for how long this went on. I had to re do all my work from the day that was printed and turn it into handwriting. She did not teach me handwriting. I had to teach myself from the cursive cards hanging in the classroom. So I guess I creatively taught myself how to handwrite.

I have no idea how everyone else learned. But that is how I learned. I actually have a cook book I did in that grade that I still have. It is handwritten. It is legible because God forbid it wasn’t. That said I do not recall her being mean or strict about it. She actually did me a favour. Where else was I going to learn to write if she didn’t take the time? this was in the 60’s when there was still value in handwriting.

Four grades later I went back to printing because handwriting was still a hurdle for me. It never came smoothly. I printed all my notes. I remember one teacher calling in the principal to look at my work. I was mortified thinking of what would happen. The principal called me up to the front of room and used my workbook as an example of neat and tidy notes look like. HA!!! Not what I was expecting.

I like to write when it is just for me. My writing is atrocious. Mostly I will print. At one job a colleague of mine noted she had never seen my writing and had no idea what it looked like as I always typed my notes back and forth.

You adjust to what your past is. I am not offended if someone tells me they cant read my writing. The criticism of my writing never bothered me. What bothered me more was the fact it did not come easy. It was always something that slowed me down.

The more you try to force your handwriting to conform to a pre-conceived notion of what it "should" be, the more noticeable the changes will be...so stop trying! You should just be yourself and let your handwriting be what it wants to be. Anything else is phony. Handwriting is a subconscious activity. If I ask you to write an essay on the topic “The most memorable day in my life.” you will start thinking about the subject and the content of the essay. While writing the essay your focus will be more on the words you are using and sentences that you are framing. Handwriting is a subconscious activity. If I ask you to write an essay on the topic “The most memorable day in my life.” you will start thinking about the subject and the content of the essay. While writing the essay your focus will be more on the words you are using and sentences that you are framing. Occasionally, you will also think about the correct spelling of words etc. Do you think about the handwriting formations, the slant, size, pressure, word spacing, letter spacing, etc? Do you think about how the t is getting crossed or i is getting its dot? Not so much. It is not possible to be aware of both the content and formations of the handwriting both at the same time.

Your handwriting formations depend on subconscious patterns that you have. Handwriting is affected by your moods, health, emotional state while writing.

As humans we have some variation in our behaviour so that is reflected in our handwriting too. You won't find your handwriting to be exactly the same everytime. If your handwriting is the same for years and it does not change a bit at all then you are probably a machine or live a life like a robot.

But if your handwriting varies too much in a short span of time it shows that you are too moody, unpredictable and unreliable.

To some extent, you can practice and make your handwriting more legible, but since we have had word processors for years and years now and are no longer required to write reports longhand (that means to handwrite something in cursive, in case you hadn’t heard that term), handwriting, as long as it is legible, is quite good enough.

My dad’s handwriting was not easy to read for most people, but having worked as a clerk in his office when I was in college, I read it easily. My mother called it chicken-scratching. I called it his secret code and was proud that I could read it all!

Thanks Mary, for A2A.

There can be many mentionable reasons. Let me deal with these one by one.

  1. Movement of thumb and its holding power with fingers is called ‘opposition’. The pressure varies with pen/pencil size, roughness and shape. Holding style/angle also changes. So, slight change in handwriting would be conspicuously observed.
  2. Tip types are different. Writing with pointed tips is difficult.

  6. Some pens cause muscles to fatigue faster than others; that spoils the handwriting.
  7. In case of old people, writing shows signs of tremors which are more pronounced when pen is changed. Also, same goes for writing at different place, angle, height etc. That is what I am experiencing personally.

The above points, hopefully, are sufficient to elaborate changes in handwriting.

I will start with something that will seem really picky, which is the definition of the word font.

The Oxford Dictionary notes the origin of the word in the late 16th cent. (denoting the action or process of casting or founding): from French fonte, from fondre ‘to melt.’

A font is a complete set of letters and associated symbols that is fixed in form and used to compose text. As the word indicates, the first fonts were cast in metal (larger letters were sometimes carved out of wood). Type has a long history, with most type now of the digital variety. As the word indicates, the first fonts were cast in metal (larger letters were sometimes carved out of wood). Type has a long history, with most type now of the digital variety. What has not changed is that a font is a fixed set of letter forms. The casual use of the word simply to denote a style of writing is not correct.

This academic aside has a purpose, which is to get to the point that handwriting is not made up of fixed letterforms. Even the most precise lettering artist or calligrapher will make a letter ever so slightly differently each time, no matter how hard he or she may try. Most lettering artists actually glory in the non-uniform character of handwritten text.

For everyone else, handwriting is a means of communication, even if only to oneself, and style is not the main concern. In your case, you evidently have more than one style at your disposal. Your mention of fonts leads me to believe that each one of your handwriting styles is more or less consistent with itself, but varies from one style to another. There is nothing to say that a person has to have only one handwriting style; indeed, for those who enjoy writing and are aware of the visual qualities of the written word it is not that unusual to have more than one style.

For example, I have a very fast style with lots of shortcuts that I use to take notes quickly. I have a more presentable style, but that is still fairly informal, and, finally, I have a more formal handwriting style that I can use when the occasion arises. I distinguish all of these handwriting styles from the historical and artistic varieties I use as a professional calligrapher — none of which are my actual handwriting.

My advice: enjoy your handwriting styles—all of them!

Kids used to start with Roundhand but grab any hand you love from a calligraphy book, which will provide a detailed breakdown of its letter shape, letter height, and horizontal spacing. Enjoy the calm precision of forming the letters. Write the alphabet properly a couple times as a reference, then write out your favorite quotes. Consider printing paper with guidelines to help you get started.

Eventually—and it takes a while, almost like re-learning to walk after an accident—you’ll master that hand and form the letters consistently, clearly, and beautifully. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have the mental and hand skills to master any hand at all. Make up your own if you want. That’s what adults did for hundreds of years to create their own distinct personal handwriting.

Consider how we wear clothes because these may cause these clothes to make contact just above the hand we use to write with. We may be wearing long sleeved shirts or jumpers or even a jacket or a coat. The way that we write is often upon a hard surface such as a desk or a table. The hand moves across the page and the wrist moves as well. The clothes move along and sometimes cause us to stop in certain positions along the page because they drag more than an uncovered wrist would.

:

If we have rough skin then we may see a little extra drag because of that. Imagine if we used a skin cream that helped us to write without causing a drag action. The other point is that the hand itself drags along below the little finger and we tend to use that drag action to control the very small lowercase words and punctuation marks such as commas, colons and full stops. We’re dealing with a micture of heights and widths as well as positions for certain letters in different styles such as for letters fgjpqy. Some people use the letter f with a little just under the normal height than we see with some fonts using the letter f.

:

Every time we move the hand either left or right or slightly up or down there could be an awkward feeling we’re not fully in control at that time. We usually lift the hand and move it further along the line. Another factor is when reaching the end of a line and not having enough space to successfully write a long word such as supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. So some letters may be cramped up just to get as many letters as we can before a natural break somewhere in that type of word.

:

There are some tiny pens that are free gifts that local banks are known to give away and there are large jumbo pens, too. It’s how we grip the pens that matters as we’re tightening up the hand muscles straight away just to hold the pen securely. So the act of writing is also the act of gripping and moving and dragging along the surface of the paper or just above it, while trying to see if we’re writing well according to the best style we’re accustomed to. So normal speed is interrupted as soon as we move along the length of each line at different heights of the paper. Consider how the paper may be in a notebook being different to a single sheet of a scrap of paper or a standard A4 sheet of paper. We need to keep some paper firmly in place just to write on it at all.

:

We may like to use a slanted italic nib for a fountain pen but we must maintain the angle to avoid a scratching action of the nib upon the page. Compare all these points with the way that a computer printer prints as the contact is directly above or next to the exact point on the page itself. It isn’t slightly to the left or right or up or below. So it’s a typical printout just as it often appears in the printer’s previews shown on our PC monitors. This precision applies even to handwriting fonts that are spectacularly odd and irregular to the more conventional styles mean to creat better displays we might prefer to read instead.

:

I prefer the LORA font in bold and italic and size 16 in the green text colour upon a white background and have created Prt Scrn images my photo editor uses for my poetry images below my poemhunter—com poems. I tested dozens of installed fonts to see which ones were user-friendly for writers and poets. That doesn’t mean my handwriting matches any of these because of the writing, gripping, dragging actions across each line can’t match the precision of modern computer printouts or web page displays using user-friendly fonts. Nor would I waste time trying to create a brand new customised font based on a font template for individual letters and numbers and so on. There’s no point in that as I would be creating slight differences when doing the customised template. No, I use a professional designer font to get the very best I can instead. Calligraphy is something I love. Even so, I would prefer to use a calligraphy font and a word processor to create the printouts instead of fretting over every single letter and number written out by hand. Even here, some fonts mess up the capital letters and the numbers and punctuation symbols so I had to pick and choose the standard heights and widths all over again.

:

So PLEASE don’t limit yourself to handwriting text as if you could become a perfect writer that way. You’d probably write so slowly and worry over everything you wrote. That goes against the efficiency of today’s technologies and designs and crawling along at such a slow speed takes all the joy out of being creative. I type as fast as I can think yet I use the wide and heavy white QWERTY keyboard and the left hand’s fingers to type with. A few extreme right key actions are using the right hand for the Enter key and so on. I don’t really bother with the NumPad numbers at all as I’m left-handed. So I’ve adapted from handwriting poems and stories to using the computer and the white keyboard. Another factor for me is that the keyboard is deliberately set to stay flat and isn’t raised up at all. That way, the keyboard remains exactly in the same position for me to type and also to see the letters and numbers and it’s just like looking at a piece of white paper rather than using a black keyboard with white letters not so clearly seen.

:

Can you use handwriting fonts that clearly show the letters fgjpqy as well as the standard height and position for the numbers 1234567890 as well? Aren’t such fonts better than your handwriting will ever be? The joined-up script fonts are obviously more like handwriting than what you see on the PC screen right now. So it’s up to you. to either use these for printout versions of your thoughts or to imitate the best script styles you can find and keep writing like these to help you focus on better precision and thus raise your standards.

You may be forcing it.

Can you read what you write? If you can, stop worrying about it.

Your worry is simply imagination wasted.

Legibility is almost everything. How accurately you can get your point across to yourself is what’s important.

The practice you need is to fight off penmanship anxiety. Athletes do it by taking several big, deep breaths. You can do the same.

Since both your personality and your present feelings show in writing, as you feelings and situation change, so will your writing.

When he is good at copying those letters in the usual size give him a short piece of text written in Greek by a person with good penmanship and have him copy that over and over again until he can do it without error.

Next, have him write the text on a separate piece of paper, not copied through the parchment, until he can do this transcription without errors.

Finally, giver him an entirely new section of Greek text and have him practice writing that until he can do it without errors.

A lot of work, perhaps, but if you need to write legibly for any reason and want to be complemented on your penmanship this is the way to accomplish it. I suggest you stick to English, however.

You can tell when someone has good handwriting if all their letters sit on the line and all their letters are the same size. Additionally if someone has good handwriting it will normally flow well and not look jagged.

Good handwriting example-obviously not mine.

If someone has bad handwriting it will be the opposite. Not many of their letters will be on the lines and their letters will all be different sizes. Also all their letters will be jagged.
