do you know what bank the debit card is through? contact them & get a lost-stolen report completed on his card... and don't have them send a replacement if he able to communicate? if so, go to the hospital & put him on the phone with the bank

well Anna no offence but... stay out of it this mess is none of your business if the "family" are so concerned has anybody actually gone to check up on him regardless of the fact he is not currently living at his address...hmmm

adult protective services, police, you can report his inability to handle his SS to SSA and they may require a payee...which means the money will go to someone else on his behalf....you can make these calls yourself. you don't need to be a relative or even a close friend...you just need to know about the situation. if he really is incompetent---someone can go to court and get power of attorney/conservator ship/guardianship.
