Should schools have stricter dress codes?

What are some pros about dress codes in high schools?

  • I am writing an essay about dress codes in high schoool and why they might help out.. What are some pros about the dress code??? Please help

    -- allows students to focus on learning and avoid distractions of uncomfortable clothes -- promotes a sense of dignity and self-respect when students are adequately covered -- some dress codes ban gang-related symbols and accessories -- avoids safety hazards from large earrings, spikes, chains, etc. -- maintains order (students cannot come to school in bathing suits and pajamas) -- students are not constantly "adjusting" their clothes to keep themselves covered (pulling down short skirts so they cover the butt area, etc.) Hope this helps!

They are good for kids who dont have many different pairs of clothes to wear anyway,bc now everyones wearing the same thing so it levels the playing field. But it KILLS School Pride,Creativity,and most student Energy because it makes students feel VERY restricted and just overall unenthusiastic (be it subconsuis or not)
