  DO NOT attempt to 'flush out' gallstones with oily liquids. Here's why: 1. Nothing that you swallow, whether it's oil, water, food or whatever, can actually enter your gallbladder. You cannot 'flush out' anything that's in your gallbladder. It is physically impossible. 2. If you are suffering from gallstones or gallbladder disease, the very last thing you should be doing is consuming large quanties of fat, so drinking anything containing olive oil is a very bad idea. Consuming fats is what makes the gallbladder contract, and this aggravates the pain and irritation caused by the stones. 3. People will claim that they drank an oil-and-lemon juice mixture and actually saw the 'stones' in their excrement afterwards. They didn't. What they saw were lumps of solidified, undigested fat as a result of consuming far more fat in one go than the stomach can cope with. The alternatives to surgery are either having the stones broken up with ultrasound waves, or taking a special medication for several years that affects the body chemistry and helps the stones to dissolve. However, neither of these treatments are very effective, because the stones will simply appear again. Your best bet, honestly, is surgery. It's a simple operation, performed by laparoscopy, so the incision is absolutely tiny and you would be able to go home the same day or the day after and would be fully recovered in a week or two.
