  • Answer:

Two seperate issue's. She is pinching a nerve in her lower back and/or sciatic nerve. This causes the tingly/numb feeling and the leg giving out. An MRI will be necessary and surgery is a real possibility. As far as the ankle bit, she is retaining water and wil need to be prescribed a diuretic to reduce water retention in the lower extremities. Watching salt intake and moderate walking will help also.

Sounds like a few nerves are pinched in her/your back. MRI could tell you what is going on inside your back. Are the legs swollen or big?
