  • Answer:

When you buy a HTIB all in one system That is what you get. This question is asked like 3 times a week on here. Buy a seperate receiver and speakers. http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-S5500-7-1-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0077V88ZE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344477267&sr=8-1&keywords=hts5500 This is a nice starter system. it is a 7.1 3d ready receiver and a set of cheap speakers. it is less than 400$ for less than another 100 you can add a bluray player. If down the road you want you can upgrade the speakers. This is the only "System" I will recommend.

Any receiver or processor that has Dolby Pro Logic and/or a synthesized surround mode should do it. >> It's almost certain that your previous systems had useful modes that you didn't discover. Keep in mind that if the sound source is mono (one channel), you won't get much of a surround effect, if any at all, even from a mode designed to work with mono signals. Go to a good independent audio store and tell a salesperson what you want.
