    This is going to vary wildly because they use contractors as well. Some get paid per invoice, some get paid hourly. In Central Florida the going rate is $15 to $20 hourly for cable installers, don't know about satellite installers.

I've been told that contract installers are paid a flat rate of $40 per job without regard to time required, driving distance, job complexity, etc. You also end up using your own truck and paying for your own gas and tools. In my book, I'd rather flip burgers!
