    I mean how good do you want to get. To be a high level weights are kind of needed. However you can still be damn good without!! You wanna be in the pool at least 3 times a week that's important. Now for land work, running I wouldn't say is that important as your cardiovascular endurance will be good from swimming anyway. Work a lot on your core muscles by doing sit-ups, crunches, leg raises, there are lots of resources online. Then press ups and pull-ups are very good for upper body. I got to nationals at swimming 3 years running when I was young without weights so it can be done!
