Is South West London posh? or rough?

What town in your opinion sums up the North, South, East and West of London ?:?

  • I think Islington sums up North London for me lol South London is Brixton, East London is Hackney and West London is Hounslow lol I'm from West London myself - im from ...show more

  • Answer:

Thank God for that: I thought for one horrible moment you were asking a question about somewhere foreign, north of Watford - phew, no thanks. Apparently packs of howling blood thirsty werewolves and endless forests of trees so tightly packed the sunlight never hits the ground, especially at night. North - Archway West - Acton East - Hackney South - Brixton Lonnie Donegan - a Londoner Sir Henry Cooper RIP Ndubz from Camden Michael Caine etc

i do actually kind of agree with your towns! i like it! apart from the west london cos to be honest i don't really know west london, i might say notting hill... ---> and sorry but hackney is definately in east london! i mean it is actually quite complicated. i have just looked it up and apparently in 2008 in changed from being east london to north... however, as it mainly has 'E' postcodes and only a couple of 'N's, I'm just not sure I agree that it's north london, even if thats the official line! it's the east end for god's sake! i live in haringey and i call that north east - cos geographically it is north east there's just not an NE postcode cos that's newcastle! hackney is east london and YOU KNOW IT! ---> hey man, yeah i am in much agreement with you, this silly London Plan might try and redefine things but us Londoners know the real deal, and hackney is East! I was sleepy when I posted last night so was about to put down my revised london towns list (this is a really good idea by the way!) but started with North and just could NOT make up my mind. I think the problem is simply that I spend pretty much all of my time in north, so the Haringey / Islington / Camden fight was too much for me to work out. One thing not added here is a central location! but I guess that all central places have a WC or EC postcode so you could just say they went to either west or east... I guess I would therefore have either Kings Cross or Soho as my West, even though neither of them are thought of as West, and Farringdon as my East... Anyway, I'm blabbing on, and am not really summing up but now just naming my favourtie places in London lol, this has become more like a thread, but I like it, good post :):)
