The answer above accurately describes the "qualifier" - or more accurately "screener". He/she tries to persuade the phone-in caller to attend the 90 minute presentation. Such people may also be staffing a booth at a resort or tourist place, drawing in the prospects by offering a free meal, or a free gift, or free nights at a local hotel, etc.
