  • Answer:

I've never heard of anyone getting physically hurt from sleep paralysis and everything you describe seems to be pretty much the norm with SP, I have however heard from more than one person that sleeping on your side and not on your back can stop the SP from occurring and another thing I've always heard is try not to fight it and just ride it out best you can and KNOW that you will be fine even though it's scary as hell during the experience. Also don't let yourself get sleep deprived and try and relieve yourself from stress by walking ,running or any form of physical exercise or take up yoga but do get rid of it, stress does nothing good and is a very negative influence physically and emotionally. Hope this helps you;-)

Well I can possibly offer a 'non-physical' explanation..... It sounds like you have some energy interference ie something external to yourself interfering with your energy. Let me try to explain: We are all energy beings and there is lots of 'other' energy floating around us. When we are going about our normal day (or night) the 'external' energy doesn't normally affect us. However, if we become angry or depressed our energy vibration lowers allowing us to become susceptible to 'external energy'. This energy likes to play games with us and tries to scare us and prove it's (illusionary) power over us. I am also not surprised to hear about your 'hallucination' regarding the cigarette which appeared very real and added to your fear. Firstly, I want to assure you that your experience is actually not that uncommon and people will often have this 'paralysis' feeling or 'being held down' feeling at some point in their life.... Secondly, you can do several things to help or counteract. -Have a bath with Sea Salt (or Epsom salt, you can get it in most chemists or even the supermarket) this cleanses your energy field so ensure that you submerge all of yourself including the top of your head in the water. Only keep in the water for about 10 minutes otherwise you will possibly re-absorb. -When going to sleep imagine that you're putting yourself in a Golden Bubble of light that's protecting you & keeping you safe while you sleep. -If it happens, in your mind call upon your spirit guides (you don't have to be familiar with them or even believe in them but every person has them who are dedicated to help us). You can also call upon Angels or any Deity (ie Jesus, Krishna, Shiva, etc or even say a prayer) to come and protect you. If you feel uncomfortable about doing that, just imagine a big bright light (like a light at a football field that you can't look directly into) shining on you dissolving any negativity and only bringing peace and love. The 'heavy' feeling should lift immediately - if so, you can (also in your mind) thank whoever helped :) Of course this might not be the rational solution you were looking for, but try it - you've got nothing to loose right? In addition, it appears that this 'energy' has been with you for some time and if you can think back at the times you have experienced the paralysis - was it stressful/emotional times for you?? I hope this helps and if you've got questions I'm happy to answer them if I can. Be well, be happy.
