Is it easier to ice skate or roller blade?

If I'm able to roller blade, will I able to ice skate?

  • I'm pretty good at roller blading, and we plan to ice skate tomorrow, that will be the first time i do the ice skating. Thank u.

    Not necessarily. I'm a decent figure skater and an absolutely pathetic roller blader. But it will give you a slight advantage in that you know your centre of balance a bit better. Just don't try to stop on skates the way you do on roller blades. You will end up cracking your head open.

You will probably have an advantage. But don't get too far ahead of yourself. Ice is very slippery.

You will have the basics and find it much easier, but remember ice is a totally different surface and the skates are different and you have to stop differently... don't drop yourself in the deep end thinking you'll manage keep sensible.

Ice Skating is similar to roller blading, so it will make it easier, but it's not quite the same. (Be careful not to fall over, ice is sharp! OTL)
